On the afternoon of Octobe22, Beijing Municipal Health Bureau (BMHB) held a press conference on influenza vaccination. Journalists from 20 TV stations, broadcasting stations, newspaper offices and some other mainstream media agencies in Beijing attended the press conference.

The conference was presided over by Mr. Zhao Tao, Director of Disease Control Division of BMHB, who expounded the current overall situation of influenza vaccination in Beijing. Mr. Deng Ying, Director of Beijing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, briefed the media on influenza vaccination. He emphasized that as the weather became cold, it would be difficult for senior citizens to take flu vaccines; it is recommended that the elderly take advantage of the warm weather at present to take vaccines before the peak season of influenza.

On October 23, an supversion team headed by Mr. Pang Xing, BCDC Deputy Director, conducted an inspection relating to influenza vaccination in Xicheng District and Chaoyang District. The team inspected and enquired about the publicity of influenza vaccination in the communities and the vaccination work completed by community health service centers. After exchanging ideas with personnal in district centers for disease control and prevention, the team pointed out that every district center for disease control and prevention should report to the district health bureau and district government in terms of the current situation, and encourage local subdistricts to promote influenza vaccination further.
