The Association of Emergency Medical Rescue Teams for the Olympic Games was established by Chinese Hospital Association in Beijing on July 10. This association will provide limited free medical care for Olympic ticket holders who have registered via www.emss.org.cn and text messages in 37 Olympics-related cities.
According to informed sources, if an Olympic ticket holder registered on www.emss.org.cn is injured outside the Olympic security areas during the Games, she/he will receive free medical care as long as the total cost is no more than 1,000 yuan before hospitalization and 5,000 yuan during hospitalization. The emergency medical service will be available during the period of August 5, 2008 through 12 pm, August 27, in total of 23 days. Both domestic and foreign ticket holders can register on www.emss.org.cn before 12pm, 26 August 2008. If a ticket holder is injured in an accident, she/he can call the hotline of the association via 400-818-5050, or local emergency centre telephone number 120. This association was founded by the Emergency Medical Center (First AidStation) Branch for Chinese Hospital Association, and financially supported by HealthLink Services Ltd. (Beijing) and China Life Insurance Company (Beijing).
