According to the Ministry of Health, it has recently recruited about 300 public health supervisors from health authorities throughout 16 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), such as Tianjin, Shaanxi, etc., to reinforce the protection of Beijing Olympics. These newly-recruited health supervisors will provide supervision and protection for the city as well as Olympic hotels after a short-term training.
In order to fill the shortage of public health workers in Chaoyang, Haidian, and some other districts or counties, the Beijing Municipal Health Bureau drafted 352 health supervisors from 16 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), like Tianjin and Shaanxi. To put it more precisely, 116 supervisors drafted from Tianjin, Shaanxi, Liaoning, Hebei, Shandong and Henan will provide services for officially designated hotels in Dongcheng District, Chaoyang District and Haidian District; 144 people from 9 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), including Shanxi, Jiangsu, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, etc., will be dispatched to Chaoyang Distrct, Haidian District, and Changping; moreover, 92 people from Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Hubei and Ningxia will be the back-up.
According to the instructions of the Ministry of Health£¬the chosen supervisors are all highly-experienced elites from the front line of public health supervision in big and medium-sized cities. Equipped with health check kits and reagents for food and water tests, they will be in charge of the safety arrangements of food, public places, drinking water, etc. All these supervisors will be trained and commanded by the BMHB after their arrival in Beijing. Local health agencies of counties and districts will assign them specific tasks. |
