On March 15, Beijing Emergency Medical Center upon request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs dispatched the ambulance team in the charge of Physician Li Bei to offer medical supports to the former U.S. Secretary of State Dr. Kissinger who arrived in Beijing for a 3-day visit.
At 8 o¨clock on March 16, the ambulance team ready for Xishan received a call from assistant of Dr. Kissinger and was informed that one retinue had diarrhea. The first-aid personnel arrived at the site and examined the patient instantly. Physician Li Bei communicated with the patient in English and comforted him, getting to know that this 80-year-old patient and just got stomachache and diarrhea 10 hours ago without past medical history. Based on the patient¨s willingness, the first-aid personnel reexamined the patient, detailed the notices carefully and left their contact information in order to facilitate timely medical support. Subsequently, the first-aid personnel met with the ambulance team to offer medical support till late night.
On March 17, the ambulance team guarded Dr. Kissinger and his retinues who would leave for U.S. to the south parking apron of the Capital International Airport, and finished its assignment successfully. When the ambulance team was about to leave, Dr. Kissinger walked out from the VIP room, expressed his thanks to the first-aid personnel and took a photo with them. Beijing 120 again presented its professional medical treatment, high-quality service and hardworking spirits, and also was highly appraised by the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
