Beijing First Aid Center, as the training base for the pre-hospital first aid medical staff for the 2008 Olympic Games, is responsible for taking systematic training for those workers from the second and third level non-designated hospitals in Beijing. The training courses consist of 13 items concerning first aid theories and technical operations, which include emergency medical care for the duration of the Games, frequently-seen first aid and critical care. In total 879 workers joined the first-stage training. This Olympic-oriented training adopts a trinity training pattern featured with training, assessment and pre-hospital internship, which facilitates the selected staff from the second or third level hospitals to get familiar with the pre-hospital working process and thus successfully transform them from the hospital working pattern to pre-hospital working pattern. It will continue its training for 150 probationary staff on April 22, 2008. And in May, Beijing First Aid Center will launch the second-stage intensive training on the basis of the first-stage assessment, and try to make the trainees passing through intensive training meet the technical requirements of pre-hospital transfer services through simulated rehearsal, so as to ensure the high-quality pre-hospital medical services for the duration of the Games.
