In an attempt to increase the public health security, intensify the awareness of preventing and controlling the infectious disease epidemics and further standardize the monitoring, reporting and disposing process in Beijing during the Olympic Games, Beijing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention held on July 7 the working conference of infectious disease epidemics reporting and disposing process during the Beijing Olympic Games. Nearly 90 participants including relevant staffs from the local infectious disease clinics and immunity prevention clinics affiliated to Beijing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as deputy directors in charge of disease control and section chiefs in charge of epidemic disease from CDC of 18 districts and counties and CDC of Yanshan and the Railway were presented at the conference.

The information of “the Meeting for Medical Managers of Olympic Venues, Presidents of Relevant Medical Health Service Hospitals as well as Public Health Teams in Venues” and working requirements proposed by leaders such as Deputy Mayor Ding Xiangyang and Director Fang from the Beijing Municipal Health Bureau were firstly conveyed at the conference. Introductions to the Olympic public health security and the commanding system of the Olympic Public Health Security Commanding Center were given, and the working requirements for CDC of each district and county during the Games were proposed. Next, specific requirements of public health security for the Olympic personnel, of rules and regulations on reporting of infectious diseases, of reporting process and disposing specification in Olympic venues and residences of Beijing, as well as the city-level infectious disease epidemics reporting and disposing process during the Olympic Games were introduced respectively.

Deng Ying, Director of Beijing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention finally gave a summarization, demanding that everybody should attach much importance to the Olympic public health security, the reporting on infectious diseases, contingent public health incidents should be timely, accurate, scientific and precise and the epidemics monitoring and sample testing should be strictly and realistically implemented in accordance with the health standards, in an effort to ensure a safe and successful Olympic Games.
