Recently, the Sino-Australian Symposium on full assessment of pain and pain management co-sponsored by Beijing Tumor Hospital and the Cancer and Palliative Treatment Committee of Beijing Anti-cancer Association was held in Beijing Tumor Hospital. Over 200 medical staff all over the city participated in this symposium. The symposium was presided over by the executive vice-chairman of Beijing Anti-cancer Association and deputy director of Beijing Tumor Hospital, Pro.Gu Jin. The vice-chairman of Beijing Anti-cancer Association and secretary of the Party Committee in Beijing Tumor Hospital, Pro.Li Pingping granted certificates to the guests and the chairman of Beijing Anti-cancer Association, Pro.You Weicheng in Beijing Tumor Hospital extended his warmly congratulation to the successful holding of the symposium.

At the meeting, the Australian expert on palliative treatment—Pro.Ghauri delivered a brilliant academic report. Pro.Ghauri, who has profound background and practical experience in palliative treatment and pain treatment, is the leading scholar in this field in Australia. Three Australian experts made detailed presentations on some certain issues related to pain assessment, pain management and treatment with specific cases and discussed with the medical staff on the topics they concerned.

After the meeting, Pro.Ghauri and other foreign experts visited the Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Ward and No.2 Gastrointestinal Surgical Ward in Beijing Tumor Hospital.
