2008 Water Polo China Open was held in Ying Tung Natatorium on March 18. For the purpose of properly conducting the health supervision and security during the competition of water polo, the health supervision institutions in our city made active action and dispatched 19 health inspectors to daily conduct the health supervision on the competition venue, the training venue and the residence, to understand the food and meal supply, to quickly inspect the site, to supervise the dining-room to reserve samples of food and to examine the control over infectious diseases. We assisted 60 health inspectors from relevant districts and counties to inspect the food sanitation of enterprises that provide the food for the competition event, and provided the logistics support for food sanitation and security in the venue and residence.

As of March 20, the health inspectors had conducted the supervision and inspection on venues and residences such as Ying Tung Natatorium, Swimming House of Tsinghua University, Schengen International Hotel and Crown Plaza Park View Wuzhou, and wrote 40 minutes and 12 supervision position paper, examined 5,977 shaped packing foods and 183 reserved food samples and quickly tested on the spot 267 foods in terms pesticide residue, edible oil acid value and peroxide value, which are all qualified and ensured the food supply security for 9,909 people.
