The Beijing Physical Examination Center was founded in 1964 and was the earliest professional physical examination center authorized by the government. It organizes, administrate, and carries out physical examination the recruitment of soldiers, students, teachers, drug clerks, and drivers in special areas. It checks the qualification of specific hospitals in applying for specific physical examination, provides face to face consultation about the physical examination problems in recruitment of middle school students and high school students, and is responsible for the returning of soldiers and students due to physical examination problems. In the past 40 years, Beijing Physical Examination Center has selected numerous healthy and qualified persons for national defense and education.

The long term check-up practices has accumulated rich experience for the center and gradually became the features of its specialty. The center has participated to formulate and rectify the standard for checkup in national recruitment for soldiers and students and formulated the check-up standards and procedures in recruiting governmental leaders, etc. Recently it set up the Beijing Administrative methods for checkup, the Beijing checkup procedures for soldier recruitment, Beijing checkup procedures for teacher authorization.

With the rapid development of the market in physical examination, the center has opened to the public for the health examination to satisfy the increasing needs for health care. It has carried out the health examination for nearly 100 thousand people from COSCO Group, Head Office of China Construction Bank, Beijing Youth Daily, China Telecom, Ping’an Issuance Corporation, the Ericsson China branch and other famous enterprises and offices.
